The children's author David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.

David Walliams

Best-selling young adult author and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.

A spokesman for the company stated: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the decision was reached following an inquiry regarding allegations of inappropriate behaviour towards female individuals.

The publisher declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."

A Highly Successful Publishing History

Walliams ranks among Britain's most best-selling authors for kids, having sold over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in dozens of tongues.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.

He has published over four dozen titles combined, including a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.

From Screen to Page

His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago for his services to the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
